My Vegas Vacation

The first week of August Alicia and me went to Las Vegas for a mini vacation. We had a blast. For the first time, we stayed at The Luxor. I loved it! The Luxor has everything you need, even a night club! The swimming pool was enormous, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The Luxor in Las Vegas will be my hotel always. It was a wonderful adventure! Disneyland

On November 22, 2009 I turned one more year on this earth. On this day my Godson Nomar also turned another year. We celebrated at Disneyland. Very few crowds and not that much waiting in line, made the day extra special. It was Nomar's first time at Disneyland and he had lots of fun! He said the Indiana Jones ride was his favorite. My favorite of all time is Space Mountain. My comadre Nelly and Alicia joined in for the fun. Thank you Disneyland for giving us our free birthday admission. We saved $72.oo each!! I'm posting some pictures of our day there.

Sandra's Bridal Shower

On Saturday, September 19, I went to my cousin's Sandra bridal shower party. It took place in San luis, Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico. The party started around 7 p.m. and ended around 1 a.m.

They served birria, it was cooked by Juan Carlos, her fiancee. Sandra and Juan Carlos will marry by the judge on October 13, which is her birthday, and marry by the church on October 17. I wish them the best in everything, and may they live happily ever after. Posted you will see pictures of me, Sandra, and Juan Carlos and also, Alicia, me, and my comadre Nelly. I also had to throw in a picture of myself with my uncle Julian, he's such a character.

Downtown Phoenix

My trip to Phoenix was good. I went to the workshop, but it also gave me time to relax. I walked to the class every morning, and just took pictures of whatever grabbed my attention. I am into art sculpture and architectual buildings. I am posting some pictures of buildings that I thought are great.

Full Life Reach

I love art. This statue is located on Central and Washington St. at the One Renaissance Square. It gave me a nice feeling everytime I passed by it. The poem says

Cigarrette Trash

On my first day of the workshop in Phoenix I decided to walk to class. I saw many things, but one thing that really got my attention was trash. On the corner of Jefferson and First street I looked down, while waiting for the light to change. I couldn't beleive my eyes. Cigarrette butts were piled up close to a drainage. Gross! Downtown Phoenix is very nice, maybe, it could be nicer with no trash.

Workshop in Phoenix

On August 17, 2009, I went to Phoenix to a International Association of Assessing Officers Workshop. I learned about Personal Property Auditing. The instructor was Jewette Farley.

Mr. Farley made the class very interesting and funny. I wanted to take a picture with him, but for some reason or another I didn't.

The class took place a the Maricopa County Administration Building. This class gave me the opportunity to learn a lot. It also gave me my credit hours to continue my certification with the state to appraise property.

My hotel accommodations were at the Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites on 620 North 6th Street. This hotel had complementary breakfast, as well, as a gym, pool and jacuzzi tub. I relaxed. I took a picture of the hotel and the bed I slept for 3 nights. Very comfortable.

To my surprise, President Obama was going to be at the civic center close by where I stayed. I didn't see the President but I did take some pictures of the security and road blocks. I have pictures to show.

Happy Birthday America

This is the first year that I can remember that 4th of July fell on a Saturday. It was very hot, but had a cool breeze once in a while. Somerton, Arizona put on a good show of fireworks. There were many vendors selling food and drinks. They had live entertainment. It wasn't my best 4th of July, it was just ok. One day hopefully, i can spend 4th of July in Las Vegas. I bet that would be the bomb!
