Christmas 2009
Alicia and me, Alicia, Bianca, Mrs. Lucia and Lucy
Well, Christmas was a time for family. I am grateful for my family and friends. We all enjoyed dinner, and opening the presents. I did get a few gifts, but to me, gifts are not important. Spending time with the family is. I am posting some pictures of my Christmas. Enjoy.

Executive Order From Arizona Governor Brewer
Yesterday, I issued an Executive Order encouraging the celebration of Christmas and Hanukkah and prohibiting any censorship of these religious holidays.
As you may know, in the past, state and local officials in Arizona (and elsewhere) have attempted to strip both Christmas and Hanukkah of their meaning, including establishment of policies forbidding state employees from placing religious items of celebration at their desks, re-naming of Christmas trees as "holiday" trees, and renaming of Menorahs as "candlesticks."
Under my administration, I will call things what they are...a Christmas Tree and a Menorah... and will gladly allow both Christmas and Hanukkah to be celebrated at the State Capitol. I encourage my colleagues and fellow elected officials to do the same.
Finally, as I have mentioned before, this is also a season for fire safety. Please remember to be careful with your Christmas lights and any other holiday decorations. Remember to keep your tree watered and to keep a watchful eye on lit candles. Please be safe.
May God bless you, your home, and all of Arizona.
Sincerely,
Jan Brewer
Governor

Bianca's Letter To Santa
DEAR SANTA,
THIS CHRISTMAS I WANT A CELL PHONE. THE REASON I THINK I SHOULD GET ONE IS BECAUSE I'M 11 NOW. I HAVE MORE RESPONSIBILITIES, MORE THOUGHTS. WELL, THE POINT IS I'M A NEW PERSON, NEW GRADE, NEW AGE ETC... BUT I'LL ALWAYS CHERISH MY LIFE. AND A WAY TO DO THAT IS USE A CELL PHONE. SO IF AN EMERGENCY POPS OUT AND I NEED TO CALL HOME OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT, I HAVE A CELL PHONE TO USE. OR IF SOMEONE WANTS TO DO SOMETHING TO ME I CALL 911 OR MY MOM OR JUST BACK UP ETC.....
$BIANCA$
In, my opinion, this is the best letter to Santa I have read. For being 11, Bianca, is mature enough to know about life. I thank God for letting me meet such a fine girl. Bianca, believe in your dreams. Dreams do come true if you really wish for them.

Feona Doing Her Exercises
My Feona is so funny! Every time she goes to bed she does this! Take a look. She is either warming her bed, or doing her exercises before going to sleep. I love her dearly. Check her out!
White Christmas Song
During the holidays, hundreds of songs are played on the radio, stores, and restaurants. I have been asked many times what my favorite Christmas song is. I have to say it's The Little Drummer Boy. Even though that one is my favorite, the greatest Christmas song in my opinion, is White Christmas written by Irving Berlin in 1940. Irving Berlin is considered one of the greatest song-writers in history. White Christmas was made famous on the 1942 movie Holiday Inn and was sung by Bing Crosby. White Christmas stayed on the R & B charts for 10 weeks and is considered one of the most recorded songs in history. Irving Berlin also wrote the song God Bless America.

Virgen De Guadalupe
On December 9, 1531, the Virgin appeared to Juan Diego on a hill called Tepeyac. She asked him to tell the bishop to build a church in her honor. Juan Diego went to the bishop Juan De Zumarraga and told him, but he didn't believe him and told Juan Diego to ask the Virgin for proof to prove her claim.
On December 12, 1531, the Virgin appeared to Juan Diego and asked him if he had done what she told him. He told her what the bishop requested, so she told him to go and gather flowers. It was winter and no flowers bloomed, so Juan Diego got some castilian roses. Juan Diego took them to the Virgin in his "tilma". She touched them and then told him to take them to the bishop. Juan Diego presented the tilma to the bishop and the image of the Virgin appeared imprinted on the cloth of his tilma. The bishop called it a miracle and built the church.
The original tilma is at the Basilica De Guadalupe in Mexico City. One day I will go and see this miracle. December 12, will always be a special day. On this day we celebrate la Virgen De Guadalupe.

It's December!!
It's December 1st. Are you in your holiday mood? I am. The holidays are the best times to tell your family and friends what they mean to you. I want to thank everybody who has been with me thru the good times and the bad times. We only live once, and if you have a dream, follow it. So get in the holiday spirit! Time to smile, and be grateful for what we have. My Feona is in her holiday spirit. Dance with her. She likes jingle bells. Enjoy!
