Skyline Movie

This past weekend I went to see Skyline. It was a great movie, kept me into it. If you liked War of the Worlds, its the same kind of movie. It's about invaders coming from outer space to take humans brains to put them on their own kind. It's a great science fiction. I didn't like the ending though, I thought it was dumb. I won't say what happened. Still a very good sci-fi movie.

September

September came and went. I didn't realize I didn't write anything on my blog this month. I still have a hard time thinking, "Where did September go?" Family and work plus activities sometimes take the most of us. Sometimes we let life pass by us, without even noticing it. We should all stop at some point, and breath. We all need a break from our busy schedule. I know I will. My thoughts for September are , live life to the fullest, but yet remember the small things in life too.

Chain-Educational E-mails

Just sharing this funny e-mail that was sent to me.

"As we approach the end of another month, I want to thank all of you for your educational e-mails over the past year. I am totally screwed up now and have little chance of recovery."

I no longer open a bathroom door without using a paper towel, or have the waitress put lemon slices in my ice water without worrying about the bacteria on the lemon peel.

I can't use the remote in a hotel room because I don't know what the last person was doing while flipping through the adult movie channels.

I can't sit down on the hotel bedspread because I can only imagine what has happened on it since it was last washed.

I have trouble shaking hands with someone who has been driving because the number one pastime while driving alone is picking one's nose.

Eating a little snack sends me on a guilt trip because I can only imagine how many gallon of trans fats I have consumed over the years.

I can't touch any woman's purse for fear she has placed it on the floor of a public bathroom.

I MUST ALSO SEND MY SPECIAL THANKS to whoever sent me the one about the rat crap in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet sponge with every envelope that needs sealing. ALSO, now I have to scrub the top of every can I open for the same reason.

I no longer have any savings because I gave it to a sick girl (Penny Brown) who is about to die for the 1,387,258Th time.

I no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214 angels looking out for me, and St. Theresa's Novena has granted my every wish.

I no longer have any money, but that will change once I receive the $15,000 that Bill Gates/Microsoft and AOL are sending me for participating in their special e-mail program.

I can't have a drink in a bar because I'll wake up in a bathtub full of ice with my kidneys gone.

I can't eat at KFC because their chickens are actually horrible mutant freaks with no eyes, feet of feathers.

I can't use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day.

THANKS TO ALL OF YOU I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward an e-mail to seven of my friends and make a wish within five minutes.

BECAUSE OF YOUR CONCERN, I no longer drink Coca-Cola because it can remove toilet stains.

I no longer buy gas without taking someone along to watch the car so a serial killer doesn't crawl in my back seat when I'm filling up.

I no longer drink Pepsi or Fanta since the people who make these products are atheists who refuse to put 'Under God' on their cans.

I no longer use Cling Wrap in the microwave because it causes seven different types of cancer.

AND THANKS FOR LETTING ME KNOW I can't boil a cup of water in the microwave anymore because it will blow up in my face...disfiguring me for life.

I no longer go to the movies because I could be pricked with a needle infected with AIDS when I sit down.

I no longer go to shopping malls because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.

I no longer receive packages from UPS or Fed Ex since they are actually Al Qaeda agents in disguise. And I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number for which I will get a phone bill with calls to Jamaica, Uganda, Singapore, and Uzbekistan.

I no longer buy cookies from Neiman-Marcus since I now have their recipe.

THANKS TO YOU I can't use any one's toilet but mine because a big black snake could be lurking under the seat and cause me instant death when it bites my ass.

AND THANKS TO YOUR GREAT ADVICE I can't ever pick up a Toonie dropped in the parking lot because it probably was placed there by a sex molester waiting to grab me as I bend over..

I no longer drive my car because buying gas from some companies supports Al Qaeda, and buying gas from all the others supports South American dictators.

I can't do any gardening because I'm afraid I'll get bitten by the Violin Spider and my hand will fall off.

If you don't send this e-mail to at least 144,000 people in the next 70 minute, a large dove with diarrhea will land on your head at 5:00 p.m. tomorrow afternoon, and the fleas from 120 camels will infest your back, causing you to grow a hairy hump. I know this will occur because it actually happened to a friend of my next door neighbor's ex-mother-in-law's second husband's cousin's best friend's beautician.....

Oh, by the way.....

A German scientist from Argentina, after a lengthy study, has discovered that people with insufficient brain activity read their e-mail with their hand on the mouse.

Don't bother taking it off now, its too late.

PS: I now keep my toothbrush in the living room, because I was told by e-mail that water splashes over 6 ft. out of the toilet.

8-26-2010 Weather Damage

I'm posting some pictures on the damage that we had in Yuma, AZ on Thursday, 8-26-2010. It was mostly roofs that came off and light posts falling down. In my opinion I thought we had a great lightning show that night!

Feona

Feona is my cat. Feona was given to me as a gift almost 4 years ago. At first, I was not too thrilled to have her. I don't have time for pets. Each day that passed by she won my heart. She is part of the family now. I can't imagine my life without her. I am so used in seeing her every day when I get home from work, looking out the window for my arrival. Feona is and will always be special in my life.

My Vegas Vacation

The first week of August Alicia and me went to Las Vegas for a mini vacation. We had a blast. For the first time, we stayed at The Luxor. I loved it! The Luxor has everything you need, even a night club! The swimming pool was enormous, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The Luxor in Las Vegas will be my hotel always. It was a wonderful adventure! I am posting a slide show of pictures. Enjoy!

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse

Today I went to see Eclipse, the third part of the Twilight Saga. I actually liked it. Edward finally kills Victoria. It continues to be a love story between Edward and Bella. Bella is caught between two loves, Edward and Jacob. In the end she knows Edward is her true love. I realized that yes, we can love two people at the same time, but in the end you love one the most, and this is what Bella realized. Great movie, can't wait to see the ending.

Denmark Dolphin and Whale Killing Festival

I received an e-mail the other day that really made me sick. It's about this dolphin and whale killing festival that takes place in Denmark in the Faroe Islands every year. The e-mail had pictures that I'm posting as a slide show. I looked into this gruesome act of killing, and the more and I researched it, the more my stomach turned.

Every year this massacre of killing pilot dolphins takes place in Denmark for young men to show the sign of becoming adults.

People gather to see this gruesome act of killing, which the consider fun. the pilot dolphins are slowly driven ashore by boats and killed when they reach land by this young men.

This festival dates back to the 1500's. Animal Activates groups have tried to stop this gruesome festival, but failed.

Let's do something about this, spread the word, and stop the killing of dolphins and whales. It's gruesome and inhumane.

Letters to Juliet Movie

Today I watched the movie, Letters to Juliet at Harkins Theaters. I was actually dragged to see it. I'm not really a romantic person, but this story was actually good. This movie is about a letter that was lost for fifty years, and was found by Sophie, a writer. She is determined to find the writer of the letter, and finds her. They set out on an adventure to find the lost love of 50 years. In the end, they find each other and marry. I believe if something is meant to be, even though we separate, time and destiny will bring true love back together.

Self Detoxification

This self detoxification was sent to me by a friend, I want to share it with all of you.

Before you to to bed at night, prepare this magic potion: Finely chop or use the food blender to chop up two cloves of fresh garlic and let it expose to the air for a few minutes while you wash up your blender or chopping board.

The chopping releases the enzyme alliinase in the garlic. Gather the chopped garlic on a spoon and swallow it with water.

The garlic will travel your entire digestive tract while you sleep and scavenge and neutralize all the toxins, carcinogens, harmful bacteria, fungi, viruses, foreign chemical before they can harm your healthy cells.

Swallowing the chopped garlic will not give you garlic breath, as long as you don't chew it. You brush your teeth and rinse your mouth before you go to bed anyway.

In the morning, drink a big glass of water. Your first bowel movement will have a strong garlic odor and you will know that the harmful stuff has been eliminated from your body. Try it, especially if you have had a bad eating day.

To My Mother

Your arms are always there when I need a hug.
Your heart understands when I need a friend.
Your strength and love show me how to fly.
You are the only person in the world with unconditional love.

If I'm mean to you, you forgive me.
If I make a mistake, you tell me.
If everyone else closes the doors on me, you open them for me.
If I am happy, you are happy with me.
If I am sad, you don't smile, until you make me laugh.

You are my unconditional friend.
You are capable of giving everything, without nothing in return.
You find happiness when I'm happy.

My mother prays for me, even when at times I only pray for myself.
My mother would give the world for me.

Thank you Mom, I thank God for you. I love you.

7.2 Earthquake in Mexicali

On Sunday, April 4 around 3:30 p.m. we had an earthquake. I was with my family in Somerton, Arizona having our Easter get together when it hit. I have never in my life felt what I felt that day. I was scared. The ground kept moving nonstop. I have no other words to express how I felt. I was just scared.

I do want to comment on something though, the earthquake did do major damage. The smaller towns south of Mexical where affected drastically. Water lines broke, canals broke open causing the water to go into houses. Some relatives of mine had to abandon their home and go with relatives because of danger of one of the dams breaking. The ones who didn't have relatives had to go to a Sanluis park called "el bosque" and sleep in tents. Till now these small towns remain with no electricity or water. I am not too happy right now. I don't see any help going to Mexico. Where is the Red Cross? Where are the other institutions that helped the victims of Haiti and the Chile earthquakes? Everyone is created equal. Please help Mexico. I'm posting a slide show of some pictures that I gathered.

We had carne asada, chicken, and avocado salad. Typical Mexican celebration. It had been a while since the family got together in Mexico. I enjoyed the night. I am grateful for my family. Enjoy the pictures and slide show.

Time Capsule Opening

On March 13, 2010 I had the privilege to see my first ever time capsule opening. It took place in Somerton, Arizona, my hometown.

In 1985 vice Mayor Jay Vance, and council members buried a time capsule next to the old city of Somerton police department. It was very exciting to see what the time capsule contained. It had magazines from 1985, letters of students, and pictures. Twenty-five years of history. In October of this year, the city of Somerton will bury another time capsule. The community will have the opportunity to put something in it. I am thinking of something unique and interesting to put in, and hoping that in twenty-five years I can have the privilege to see it happen again.

Haiti's Earthquake

Last night I sat down and watched CNN news on the earthquake that hit Haiti. I got devastated and sad. I couldn't believe my eyes on some of the things I was watching. It broke my heart to see children on the streets wandering around. Complete chaos! My prayers go to the people of Haiti, and that they have the faith to get up from the rubble and to start new again.
The thing that has me thinking though, is all the Twitter comments I have read. I see all these actors, singers, and wealthy people saying to text to donate $10 to the Red Cross for Haiti. They also say that they are sad and "why did this happen?" Please help Haiti. So how much did these wealthy actors and singers donate? Just ten dollars like most Americans? The Red Cross has raised around 8 million dollars from just text's from the American people. The only celebrities I have actually heard that donated 1 million dollars are Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Tiger Woods is "considering" to donate 3 million dollars. Please? Why consider, if you have the money, just do it. Isn't that your motto? Regular American people donated at least $10 thru texting to the Red Cross, while, wealthy actors, and singers, are going to donate just their time on this telethon hosted by George Clooney? Please? Share your wealth. When you die, you won't take your money. I have nothing else to say, my prayers for the people in Haiti.

Recycle in 2010

I have been watching a lot of shows on global warning. The earth needs our help. The earth has been giving us a lot throughout the years, but it's running out of resources. Forests being cut down, contaminated rivers with trash, chemicals poisoning the air. These are only a few things. We need to recycle what we have so we won't run out of resources. Some companies are already using recycled plastic for their water bottles, like Naya Spring Water. It launched it's 100 percent recycled bottle this month. The earth is our home, we need take care of it. Please recycle.
